The Vapor

Midnight. Days before Christmas.  I wonder why I am awake in the middle of the night. It must be as I’ve heard, writers write at the strangest times. When the persistent urge to create attacks, then we pull on our slippers, sleepwalk to the nearest computer or pen and paper, and write until the urge passes. Anything will do–memoir, poems, inspiration–all of which looks much better tonight than it will tomorrow morning.

I dream of one day crafting words that others will understand. No. Not just understand but relate to, breathe and inhale the meaning. Connect to God and others in a deeper way. Perhaps that is my vapor and only the scent will carry to the future. But even that will suffice.

Encounters?

The Holy Spirit guides in unusual ways, like when I’m helping someone delve into their mind and emotions to discover the distress. God leads, through questions, words, and what do you call it? Intuition? Maybe. All I know is that the insight is not from me. The direction comes from someone besides me, someone who knows much more about a person than I do. From a Spirit who knows us intimately and can guide us into all truth.

About Me

As a writer, Biblical counselor, teacher and speaker, I have seen many everyday encounters with Jesus. Ministering to women individually and through retreats and seeing the light of God bring truth is an awesome experience. I also personally know about Jesus encounters.

In between encounters, or maybe along with them, I have written three books. None are published– so far–but I’m actively working on it! Two of my Bible studies have been taught several times and I have had many articles, poems and stories have appear in many magazines and books.

My husband, Bill and I teach a Bible classes to International college students at Henderson Hills Baptist Church. I’m also on the mission team there. Reaching out in love to others is one of my passions.

Besides writing, speaking and telling others about Jesus, my time is spent with my precious family.
